Welcome to the home of the Valley Area Swim Team. VAST was formed in the mid 1980's by combining the swimming programs from the Langdale and Shawmut Pools into one competive ARPA swim team for Valley and surrounding areas (1987 VAST shown below).

 We currently compete in ARPA District 5 along with Alexander City, Opelika, Prattville, Sylacauga, Talladega, and Tallassee.

 From its inception, the Valley Area Swim Team had always been known simply as VAST. In 2006, it was decided that VAST would have a nickname. Through a highly technical process (the swimmers voted and sold raffle tickets to anyone else that wanted to vote), the VAST SeaWolves were born.

 As our program continues to grow, communication is at a premium. Hopefully this site will provide a center for communication and information for both our current members and those who may be looking into becoming VAST members.
